Building Community with Sauna

What is it about sauna that allows people to drop their guard, to reveal their true selves, to become vulnerable?  In this episode of Kivia: The Spirit of Sauna, your hosts Alan Jalasjaa and Elissa Lansdell explore how sauna can enhance personal relationships and help to build community.

When we can no longer hide behind gadgets, or brand-name clothes, or the latest tech, Alan will tell you from experience, the mask comes down.  You get to know the person not the ‘stuff,’ and that’s when true friendships take root.

Some believe that there is an unspoken connection between those who sauna. Enjoying the shared experience can create a sense of community.  That may explain why mobile-saunas are so popular in Canada’s West Coast, and in Finland.

Take a deep breath, relax and enjoy!
